yum!

I saw a cook make something similar on a tv cooking segment today and decided to try my own version. I never baked cinnamon rolls in muffin tins before or sprinkled them with streusel.
So good.

giving

Because of my role in the art association, I attended a scholarship awards dinner at UNCW last evening. It was surprisingly wonderful. Many years ago when I was in nursing school, I applied for and received a small scholarship. I remember writing the letter, and I remember speaking to the group who gave it to me. It meant a lot to me, but it also meant a lot to them. Talking with the recipients last night, I thought about how important it is to give back. I was in bad financial shape in the early eighties, and now that I am older and wiser, finances are better. We can't take it with us.

More ibis

It's been kind of hohum lately, and I have had that retired feeling. Most of what I do will be packed into the next week, so I doubt the hohum will last too long. But I did get out to do some usual duties on this unusually cold, blustery day and spotted a flock of ibis at the bank. A couple flew to the roof and perched there to watch the others as they picked deep in the soil for whatever it is they eat - tiny crustaceans, I read. I was glad to get a better picture than I did a few weeks ago, because really, all my picture taking is rooted in getting to know nature better.

Surprised by Snow

It was beautiful. There was a mist from the lake and snow on the azaleas, except for these that were protected by trees. I think the camera did a good job in picking up all the elements.

outside

It is so good for us humans to spend time outside, to be in nature. And it is so easy to get lazy. About five, I took my camera and walked up and down a couple of streets and looked for birds and anything else of interest. Aahhh... Now I feel better.
Here are some of my favorite shots.
